in the spectacular Niut Range

Niut trails outfitting Offers a full range of wilderness adventures including alpine horseback adventures, pack trips, trail rides, ranch vacations or horseback rides by the day or half-day. We are based at our ranch in the beautiful Tatlayoko valley, just south of Tatla Lake, in the Chilcotin region of British Columbia.

Since early survey parties in the 1930's, horseback travel has been the traditonal method of transport to access this area by ranchers, guides, trappers and recreationalists. Today, both hiking and horseback travel are popular. The opportunity is here for you to visit these alpine lakes, snow fields and glaciers. Open alpine areas present easy travelling, whether on horseback or on foot. Alpine flowers, wildlife, including marmots, mule deer, mountain goats, and moose are often seen.

 This area lends itself so well to a great variety of nature based activities. We have numerous part day or two hour trail rides surrounding the ranch itself, along with longer trails throughout the area. There is great hiking to view spots overlooking the valley, or ride or hike along the miles of lakeshore trail of beautiful Tatlayoko Lake itself.

Whether you wish to ride, hike, or climb - fish or find wildlife - photogragh landscapes or discover alpine flowers --- or simply relax around camp - the choice is yours.

We can accommodate riders of any experience level and most age groups. Family ranch vacations work well here, and we are happy to design a custom trip for your needs. Trips are tailored to meet your requirements and experience, and we are happy to custom design a trip for you.

If you would rather hike into the backcountry we can assist you if you like with a horse assisted hiking trip. You can hike out each day and return to an established camp each night without the need to carry an overnight pack. The horse does the work for you.

 There are so many ways to enjoy the area. Hiking, fishing, horseback trips, experiencing daily ranch life or we might meet some of the neighbors and find out what they have been up to.

On any trip throughout the south central part of British Columbia, an adventure with us, whether into the high mountains on a horseback adventure or exploring the Tatlayoko valley and the Ranch, will be a highlight of your vacation.
